Happy week of Thanksgiving to all of you! We are so thankful to have this community and to be connected with all of the wonderful people that make Maine the best place to live and work!
Big shout out to everyone who showed up to the Maine Tech Blockparty earlier this month. We had almost 100 attendees and had an absolute blast seeing everyone. (P.S. massive props to Nexus members Torie and Liam for sponsoring and planning!)
If you missed the last event, don’t worry! We are co-hosting another happy hour with Startup Maine on December 3rd.
Oh… and if you are a coffee lover, be sure to check out this week’s member spotlight. ☕
Lastly, as always, if you know anyone great for this group, please make sure to send them this invite link.

Career/Bio overview
I am currently the CCO (chief creative/caffeine officer) at Cantilever Coffee Company, a project I’ve been dreaming up since first working at an independently owned craft coffee company in the early aughts. We have a whole bean coffee program, plans for a production facility in town, tinkering with a brick and mortar and can be found at Common Ground Fair and pop-ups in the greater Portland area—Get in on the NEXUS/Cantilever Coffee Program: 12 Ounce Whole Bean - $12 Nexus members only
I taught public schools for 10 years before leaving the profession in 2021 to pursue freelance commercial writing and production work. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some truly talented individuals at startups and legacy brands alike as a copywriter, content developer and design-minded strategist—I’ve always enjoyed an entrepreneurial pursuit so building a career in ad has been both rewarding and fruitful—

Why Maine?
I came to Portland in 2015 with my wife. Her family had been coming to a camp up here since the 70s, so moving to Maine was an easy thing to get on board with. Maine was attractive to me because the food, farm, and beer scene is second to none and the talent ecosystem here has only grown in recent years.
I enjoy outdoor activities, being on the ocean and feel that Maine checks all the boxes for achieving my version of the good life. Maine is the crown jewel on the East coast and I’m often reminded why establishing my life and career here was a sound move.
Away from the keyboard
When not at the computer, I enjoy spending time with my family in the woods, exploring and traveling all things New England.
Thank you for making this community special, everyone! See you on Slack.
