Event season is in full swing!
The leaves are turning and Nexus Mainers are dawning their flannels, putting on their networking pants, and getting out there.
A few fun notes. We’re excited to add another node to our regional monthly coffee meetups. This month Chris Reuter is jumpstarting the Portland edition. (See below for details). If you are interested in hosting similar meetups in your region or joining our existing meetups in Kennebunk and Biddeford, reach out and we can help you get started.
You may notice that we have our first sponsor! We would like to thank Eaton Peabody who has believed in the Nexus mission from the early days and who has already helped multiple Nexus members along the way.
Lastly, as always, if you know anyone great for this group, please make sure to send them this invite link.
Baxter the Moose with his woodland friends—a raccoon, squirrel, and owl—all excitedly gathered around the calendar full of fun events.

Career/Bio
I grew up in the DC area and studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston before landing on a career better suited to my talents! I've been building & working at small technology startups since the '90s, managing software engineering and building out tech products in a wide variety of industries.
I've worked in DC, New York, and Boston, and picked up an MBA at Columbia while in NYC. In the past decade or so I've focused mostly on FinTech—in particular, bringing transparency to the world of private equity. I was lucky to enjoy a modest exit in that space, when Cobalt PE (ake "Bison") was acquired by FactSet in 2021. Am about to go back for more in that same space with another Bison management alum, and am super excited about that!
Why Maine
My wife Mary and I fell in love with Maine from visiting my parents, who spent their summers here later in their lives. When the time came to sell our place in Boston, we just didn't love the vibe of the likely suburbs around there. And the housing market didn't love our vibe either! So we pulled the trigger and moved to the Portland area in 2017 and we love it here!
Away From Keyboard
Busy family life with two teenage kids doesn't allow much time for recreation. But I still play guitar some, and host a music-focused podcast, "Their Very Best", with fellow Nexus member, Bill Noto. The podcast is on hiatus but there are 60+ episodes in the bank!
Let's Talk
Thanks to George & Jimmy for founding Nexus. I would love to meet more Nexus folks, and talk about whatever—music, business, nerd-stuff, anything. Everyone I've met through Nexus has been smart, interesting, and capable. I highly recommend the #nexus-matchmaking channel. Reach out via the Slack group, I'm just "Waldron Faulkner" in there, and I look forward to meeting you!
Thank you for making this community special, everyone! See you on Slack.
